If you use it ever day, then just leave on, if several days
go by between uses, turn off.
The only thing bad about running 24/7 is the heat it puts into the room.

It is mostly a matter of choice. Yes powering on and off a lot CAN wear on your hardware. Having it running all the time will wear on your hardware. A good system should be fine running all the time. a not so good machine will slow way down due to left over items in the memory. I personally think it is good to shut down every few days for my file storage systems and my everyday use PC shut down at night or at the end of my shift.

I have a desktop that is just about never turned off. Just make sure you have your power saver setting set so it goes to sleep after a certain time. You can set the sleep time under screen saver power options. I have myne to sleep after 30min of non use.

I personally turn mine off when I am done using it & the electrical strip it’s plugged into gets turned off also.

The reason folks say to not turn off your pc is because it’s a strain on the processor and drives to start up. I personally think it’s a waste of energy to leave them on all the time. My main pc has been used like this for about 6/7 yrs and not a single problem (knock on wood).

Turning it off daily saves energy, there’s no harm turning it off and on daily, computers now are very hardy compared to those of 10 or 12 years ago, shutting it down once it’s not in use is best for it and you will see the difference in your electric bill

Turning the computer off every night will not harm your computer at all. It will also save power. But if you want to turn it off in a way that it will load up faster, try putting it in “Stand By” (uses very little power), or hold down shift while in the Shut Down menu and click “Hibernate”. It takes a little more time to load up than Stand By, but it uses no power.

power cycling puts more stress on the cpu

I leave my desktop on 24-7. The weakest part of any computer typically is the power supply. Leaving the computer on saves the power supply from the stress that occurs to power supply components during the in-rush of current when starting up. While I’m no computer expert I have been an electronics technician for 30 years and have repaired my share of electronic devices.

Well that means your computer overheated.

I highly recommend getting a new computer, DON”T BUY IT FROM STORES.

Ask someone you know who’s good with computer to buy parts and build one…it’s lot cheaper that way
