We’re installing new, hardwood floors, and we’ve been told the wood has to acclimate, or acclimatize, before we actually put the floor in.  One of the factors, they tell us, in installing a new floor in such a way that it doesn’t buckle or gap, is humidity.  Fortunately, we have a Goodman Gas Furnace, which has an option to control the humidity of the house.  So, we’ll set it as a medium level, about 35 percent I think it is, and let the wood sit in the house until it’s absorbed as much humidity as it needs to.  Then, we can install it correctly.
