When we first began considering solar power, I was ignorant, and overwhelmd at the words, terminology and processes I encountered. I am still very ignorant of the entire process, but installing solar panels on our home has given me a better understanding. I still am not able to tell you how the sun’s power is stored, but then I could not tell you how you turn on a light bulb other than you hit the switch, and light appears. I do know that the key to the whole system is the PV, or photovoltaic cell. When the sun hits the silicon in the cell, the silicon creates an electrical charge.
