The main no no of decorating is not to be one dimensional. When you are creating an interior design for any room of your house, make sure that all of the fabrics that you choose for that room are of different shades of the main color of the room and that they are different fabrics. For example, if you are going for the aspen interior design look, seek out rustic and ski-cabin style fabrics, perhaps in browns, tans, off-whites, but slightly different to the main colors of the room. This gives more of a three dimensional affect and gives it a more individualized and unique look to the room while bringing out more variety in your decorating. This type of decorating helps to create a layered look which will stand out a lot more then just a flat look.
