From what I read about the Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade Act, it is solely intended to affect websites outside the US, thus the use of the ITC as its adjudicator. Is the same true for the Stop Online Piracy Act, or do SOPA and OPEN apply to US websites as well?

I don’t think theres anything that’s dumber than SOPA because the internet was made to express our freedom, not block it. Instead of this they should be more focused on more important things instead of worrying about piracy, because piracy is the least of their concerns.

I heard that SOPA is something about the gov’t taking away freedom of speech or something. Please help! The history event can be anywhere from the Renaissance to the Early 20th century. Thanks!

So what would happen if the web was censored? And most importantly, what would get censored?

The laws are very similar and SOPA is far less likely to be passed.

Is it possible that it has anything to do with the fact that SOPA is supported by more Republicans and PIPA is supported by more Democrats, or is this just a coincidence?
