Practicing Alkaline Battery Recycling is gaining more and more importance day by day, as the consequences can be very harsh otherwise. Old batteries contain chemicals and metals including alkaline, which is very harmful for the environment. If battery recycling is not practiced, then these batteries have the risk of polluting lakes and rivers when they are burned and also cause air pollution as the metal vaporize into the air, when the batteries are burned.
