Whatever the nature of the project, risk management is always important to manage. Good projects managers know the critical points of risk within a project. This applies to large scale software rollouts as well as any activity that comprises team work. In particular, projects that have dependencies can often contain hidden risks. Erp implementation risks are a prime example of this which is why I like to develop the project management framework to isolate any potential project risks. This has proven to work well for me.
