If you want to be a notary, you will have to pass a certain amount of requirements. The first is that you must pass the Notary Exam, administered by the State or State Agency. You also must be in good standing with the BAR Association for the past five years. Once you have passed the exam, you will be given a license and certificate from the Secretary of State. Once these requirements have been completed, you will be officially recognized as a notary, and will be given certain privileges and duties in the legal system. The system runs much smoother because of notaries.
