How old was your baby when they stopped wanting to use their bathtub?

My baby is 4 1/2 months old and about a week or so ago he doesn’t want to sit on his bathtub for baths. So I decided to give him a bath in the regular shower while I carried him. Is that the best thing for him or should I maybe try another baby bathtub? He wants to be sitting up straight and not reclined on the tub but since he can’t sit up without a little support.
